HowToLife Movement is a global disciple-making movement reaching, discipling, and mobilizing the next generation for Christ.

 

What began with one group of young people in Arkansas has grown across cities, regions, and nations around the world.

 

But our goal is not simply to reach more places.

 

We want to see healthy communities of young disciples take root – young people following Jesus faithfully, reaching their peers, discipling others, and living on mission wherever Christ sends them.

HOW THE MOVEMENT GROWS

 

HowToLife does not simply arrive in a city, hold an event, and move on.

 

We build through people and relationships.

 

Sometimes the work begins when a young Christian reaches out with a desire to reach their friends.  Sometimes a missionary pioneers a new area and begins building relationships.  Sometimes a church or ministry leader introduces us to emerging young leaders.  And sometimes an existing HowToLife community begins reaching into another city or nation.

 

The pathway will look different in every culture and context, but our heartbeat remains the same:

 

PLANT

 

We identify and invest in young leaders who have a heart for Jesus and their generation.

 

That can lead to:

 

New leaders.

New cities.

New discipleship communities.

New evangelistic events and initiatives.

 

We want local young people to carry meaningful responsibility from the beginning.  HowToLife missionaries come alongside them to pray, coach, train, encourage, and help turn vision into faithful action.

 

SUSTAIN

 

Starting something is relatively easy.  Remaining long enough to build something healthy takes much more.

 

Sustaining the work means:

 

Missionary presence.

Coaching.

Travel.

Relationships.

Consistent gathering.

Local church partnership.

 

Our missionaries return.  They keep showing up.  They walk with leaders through challenges, help communities grow, connect young people across wider regions, and invest for the long haul.

 

We don’t simply want moments of impact.  We want lasting fruit.

 

DEEPEN

 

As leaders and communities grow, we want their roots to grow deeper.

 

Through Scripture, discipleship, retreats, intensives, training, coaching, prayer, and life together, young people are challenged to increasingly surrender every part of life to Jesus and faithfully follow Him.

 

We want to develop young people who can increasingly disciple others, share the Gospel, lead with wisdom, pioneer new work, and faithfully carry Kingdom responsibility. Good-soil disciples become fruitful witnesses.

 

FROM ONE LEADER TO A COMMUNITY

 

This is how multiplication begins.

 

A young person develops a heart for their generation.

The goal is not simply more HowToLife activity.

 

The goal is disciples who make disciples.

LOCALLY ROOTED.  GLOBALLY CONNECTED.

 

HowToLife looks different from place to place.

 

A community in Mexico City does not need to look exactly like one in Toronto, Nairobi, New York, or Lisbon.

 

Local leaders understand their relationships, language, culture, opportunities, and challenges.  We want them to genuinely lead.

 

At the same time, they are part of something larger.

 

Local Community and Event Directors are connected with regional, national, and global HowToLife leaders.  Missionaries help disciple emerging leaders.  Regions learn from one another.  Retreats and gatherings bring leaders together across cities and nations.

 

This allows HowToLife to remain locally rooted while sharing a common biblical and missional DNA around the world.

 

WHERE WE ARE BUILDING

 

UNITED STATES + CANADA

 

HowToLife began in the United States and has now reached young people across 31 states and 4 Canadian provinces.

 

Today, some of the deepest ongoing development is taking place across the Northeast United States and Canada, with growing communities, events, retreats, and missionary leadership.

Growing and developing areas: Northeast & New England • Florida • Ohio • British Columbia • New Brunswick • and beyond

 

Our vision is not simply to hold more events across North America, but to establish stronger discipleship communities and raise up young leaders who can faithfully reach and disciple others.

 

LATIN AMERICA

 

Latin America has become one of HowToLife’s most significant areas of growth.

 

Young leaders across the region are building communities, pioneering evangelism, gathering for retreats, and increasingly taking responsibility for reaching their own cities and nations.

Developing areas: Additional cities across Mexico • Guatemala • Colombia • Brazil • and beyond

 

We are working toward deeper missionary presence and a future regional mission base in Mexico that can help gather, form, and send young leaders throughout Latin America.

 

AFRICA

 

Across Africa, HowToLife is investing in emerging leaders and communities with a particular focus on sustainable, locally rooted discipleship and mission.

Growing community: Windhoek

 

Developing area: Addis Ababa

 

The vision is to identify and disciple strong local leaders, strengthen missionary presence, gather leaders for retreats and training, support evangelistic initiatives, and build communities capable of multiplying across the continent.

 

EUROPE

 

HowToLife’s European story began with events in England and Germany in 2018.  Since then, relationships and initiatives have developed across the continent.

Our focus is increasingly on identifying deeply rooted young Christian leaders and building sustainable relationships and communities rather than simply hosting isolated events.

 

ASIA + PIONEER REGIONS

 

Some parts of the world remain at an earlier pioneering stage for HowToLife.

 

Past and emerging relationships in South Korea and Singapore have opened opportunities for continued development across Asia.

 

We are also prayerfully exploring how to serve young Christians in places where following Jesus and sharing the Gospel can be substantially more difficult.

 

In these contexts especially, we want to move with patience, cultural wisdom, strong relationships, and appropriate care for the safety of local believers.

 

PIONEERS WHO GO.  LEADERS WHO STAY.

 

Some HowToLife missionaries have a particular pioneering assignment.

 

They travel into new and developing areas to:

• Identify leaders.

• Build relationships.

• Gather young people.

• Launch communities.

• Coach teams.

• Strengthen existing work.

• Help discern what should come next.

 

But pioneering alone cannot build a healthy movement.

 

As local leaders emerge, our goal is increasingly to entrust the work to people who actually live there — supported by missionaries, regional leaders, training, relationships, and the wider HowToLife family. We don’t want permanent dependence on an outside leader. We want local ownership with global relationship.

 

Regional Mission Bases

 

As HowToLife grows, we are exploring strategic regional bases that can help support missionaries and young leaders for the long haul.

 

These would be simple places for hospitality, community, training, retreats, coordination, and sending – helping strengthen the work across a wider region.

 

Current areas of consideration include the Northeast U.S., Latin America, Africa, and Europe.

 

The goal is not to build headquarters, but to create useful places that help people gather, grow, and go.

 

ONE MOVEMENT.  MANY PLACES.

 

The expression will change from city to city.

 

The mission does not.

 

We want to see young people reached with the Good News, discipled into faithful followers of Jesus, and mobilized to live on mission.

 

Some will lead HowToLife communities.

 

Some will pioneer evangelistic initiatives.

 

Some will become missionaries.

 

Some will serve faithfully in local churches, families, universities, workplaces, neighborhoods, and professions.

 

Some will go across cultures and nations.

 

Wherever Christ sends them, our prayer is the same:

 

Young people deeply following Jesus, reaching their generation, and making disciples who make disciples.
