THE STUDENT VOLUNTEER MOVEMENT STORY

Over 135 years ago, in 1886, a group of Christian young people came together in Massachusetts and left with a vision to “evangelize the world in their generation.” Thousands responded to the call and gave their entire lives to bring people into Christ’s Kingdom, including John R. Mott, Robert Wilder, Robert Speer, Samuel Zwemer, and William Borden.

Little is known today of what once was truly the greatest missions mobilization movement in history. This is the story of the origins, impact, and legacy of what was known as the Student Volunteer Movement, and what we can learn from it to reach our world today!
